Salary Band: £29,848 to £43,173

Initially on days (7.30-15.30 Monday to Thursday and 7.30-14.30 Friday)

Roxel is an Anglo-French Company that designs, develops and manufactures a range of solid propellant rocket motors for use in tactical missiles. Its operations are spread across several sites in the UK and France and it has an annual turnover of about £150M and nearly 1000 staff, with 300 in the UK.

 

The UK operations are entirely based at Summerfield, Kidderminster where we now have a requirement for a Utilities Engineer.

 

Reporting to the Boiler House Manager and responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of site systems. The role is to provide a robust mechanical bias service within an industrial building environment, while upholding company safety guidelines and complying with codes and regulations. A current BOAS certification is not essential, however the successful candidate if not certified would be required to obtain BOAS certification and participate in the call out rota.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensuring continuity of supply of utilities around site
• Boiler house duties and operation
• Repairs and maintenance of fire systems
• Maintenance of HVAC systems
• Steam system maintenance
• Maintenance of compressed air systems
• Conducting scheduled PPM works
• Installations and remedial works: repairs, replacements
• Carry out urgent reactive works
• General mechanical repairs
• Participation in the Boiler house call out rota
• Ensuring site adherence to current regulations

Experience and Background

Qualification:

 

Essential Qualifications
o C&G NVQ Level 2 engineering-based qualification

 

Desirable Qualifications
o BOAS Cert IBO
o IPAF and PASMA desirable

 

Experience:

 

Essential Experience
o 3 years’ experience in an industrial / commercial environment
o Experience of working with HVAC systems
o Experience of working with fire suppression systems

 

Desirable Experience
o Boiler house operation
o Asbestos awareness
o L8 awareness
o Working with a CAFM / CMMS system

 

Person Specification
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively
• Computer literate
• Ability to understand, translate and follow technical drawings
