Under programmes funded by the European Commission (EDIDP and EDF), Roxel France is involved in the FIRES project (Future Indirect fiRes European Solution), which aims to develop an additional propulsion solution for 155 mm munitions (such as the CAESAR howitzer and other European systems).
As part of the HYDIS² programme, funded by the European Commission and led by MBDA, Roxel is collaborating with around twenty European Defence Technology Industrial Base (EDTIB) companies to develop a European interceptor capable of neutralising hypersonic threats. Roxel is also a member of the UK’s Hypersonic Community of Interest in collaboration with the UK’s MoD.
Low cost, IM characteristics, long burn time, compact and lightweight.
Roxel contributes to the following programmes:
• AASM 250 / AASM 1000
Various devices containing propellant grains, generally produced from extruded double base propellants. Each device is designed for a specific motor or missile.
• Safety and arming devices (MSIU, ISD and SAD)
• Gas generators
• Ignition systems
• Pyrotechnic starters
Roxel has contributed to propulsion system development programmes for decoys, targets, drones and rocket sleds.
• C22, Chukar, Mirach 100, MQM 107
• RATO, GUEPARD, LEOPARD
To support this effort, Roxel created a dedicated team focused on:
• Mechanical components
• Composite components
for R&D projects
including technical assistance, safety and hazard analysis, energetic material and sensitivity testing, and rocket motor testing and evaluation
including facility setup, training and support
of solid propulsion systems and environmentally responsible disposal of pyrotechnic waste
