Roxel is an Anglo-French company that designs, develops and manufactures solid propellant rocket motors for use in tactical missiles. Its operations are spread across several sites in the UK and France and it has an annual turnover over £150M and nearly 1000 staff, 300 in the UK.
The UK operations are entirely based at Summerfield Kidderminster where we currently have 2 Calibration Technician vacancies.
Reporting to the Maintenance and Calibration Manager with all aspects of their role. Create and follow calibration procedures for various instrumentation, linear, measurement and testing equipment to ensure precision and accuracy according to Roxel’s internal and external customer standards. Perform routine calibration and adjustments of onsite equipment to minimise errors and maintain compliance with external and internal customers. Coordinate monthly calibration schedules using our internal calibration CMMS. The calibration and production of reports for all equipment used on site and by external customers. Responsible for ensuring calibration assets and documentation are audit ready.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
– Manage and utilise in house calibration software to maintain current asset records and addition of new assets.
– Maintain and develop procedures for calibration of instrumentation and linear.
– Comply with SHE and all statutory Safety, Health and Environment requirements.
– Always ensures the management team are made fully aware of any issues which will significantly impact performance.
– Communicates effectively with other members of the business at all levels.
– Provide a fast and efficient response time to any calibration requirements that occur, whilst ensuring all company procedures and standards are adhered to.
– Maintain equipment to ensure standards are kept and arrange contractor visits for equipment associated to their task.
– Use KPI to determine wear rates of gauging and reporting to Project and Quality management as to their need for replacement of gauging to ensure continued production.
– Responsible for Audits from internal and external stakeholders of calibration items.
– Compiling a list of items to be sent for external calibration, issuing to internal customers and reporting overdue assets.
– Supplying advice on gauging required for specific issues.
– Maintain calibration lab to a high standard(5S)
– Assist with quality investigations. E.g. Issues with products manufactured by external suppliers in a controlled environment through the use of calibration expertise.

Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications
o Recognised Electrical/Mechanical qualifications eg HNC,HND, BTEC Level 3 or above.
Desirable Qualification
o Experience in a manufacturing environment is an advantage
Experience:
Essential Experience
o Recognised time-served apprenticeship or equivalent in an engineering
o A Proven Calibration engineer professional with high standards of mechanical/Electrical understanding and competencies.
o Ability to read Engineering drawings
o Experience with Microsoft office and CMMS (computerised Maintenance management system).
o Experience of creating and implementing Calibration procedures.
o Solid understanding of Calibration principles, practises and theories.
• Desirable Experience
o Understanding of working to ISO9001 requirements for Calibration
