Roxel is an Anglo-French company that designs, develops and manufactures solid propellant rocket motors for use in tactical missiles. Its operations are spread across several sites in the UK and France and it has an annual turnover over £150M and nearly 1000 staff, 300 in the UK.
The UK operations are entirely based at Summerfield Kidderminster.
Roxel is currently experiencing a period of rapid growth that includes the designing of new processes and equipment. A large part of this is the transfer of current manufacturing processes to newly built facilities and this is why we have a new requirement for a Technical Engineer within the Future Factory team to establish the requirements of the sections of the program assigned, and to ensure that these requirements are achieved through good practice and sound engineering methods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Liaise with the Site Modernisation Manager in regards to the day to day efficient running of a construction / Mechanical & Electrical project.
• Monitor and effect change where necessary to mitigate issues / concerns with the timing of the project.
• Confirm requirements as per the overall project objectives within the construction / M&E section of the project.
• Maintain the master documents in relation to the timing of the project in conjunction with the Project Manager and the sub-contract construction teams.
• Maintain the master documents in relation to the cost of the project in conjunction with the Project Manager and the sub-contract construction teams.
• Develop the required safety documentation from the held templates to ensure adherence and compliance to HSE directives.
• Attend meetings at all levels with the team in regards to Site, Safety, Timing, Engineering and Cost.
• Liaise with external contractors and support function.

• BTEC Mechanical Engineering.
• Electrical / Construction qualification.
Experience:
Essential Experience

- • A sound knowledge of construction methodology.

- • A good knowledge of M&E requirements and installations.

- • Interpretation of Construction drawings.

- • Interpretation of Mechanical Schematic drawings.
- • Interpretation of Electrical Schematic drawings.
Desirable Experience

- • At least two years as a project engineer / projects coordinator (within the construction sector or facilities management sector would be preferred).

- • Apprenticeship served within the relative disciplines.

- • BTEC Mechanical Engineering.

- • Electrical / Construction qualification.
- • AutoCAD experience would be an advantage.

- • A team player with the ability to deal confidently and professionally with all project stakeholders.

- • Must be able to function as part of a busy team, but also when required work on own initiative.

- • An excellent communicator with the ability to competently conduct meetings/presentations at all levels within the business.

- • Willing to travel mainly in the UK as the need arises with overnight stays as required. There may be a small amount of European travel.
- • Able to show a demonstrable knowledge of at least Intermediate level in Microsoft suite of IT products, especially Microsoft Project.
