Hours of Work:

37h/week
8:00-16:30 Monday to Thursday (30mins lunch break, 12:00-12:30)
8:00-13:00 Friday (no lunch break)

Homeworking:

This role is not part of hybrid working and  is subject to a  6 month probation period.

Roxel is an Anglo-French Company that designs, develops and manufactures a range of solid propellant rocket motors for use in tactical missiles. Its operations are spread across several sites in the UK and France and it has an annual turnover of about £100M and nearly 700 staff, with 250+ in the UK.

 

The UK operations are located at Summerfield near Kidderminster and it is here we are excited to offer an opportunity for a Facilities Engineer.

 

Reporting to the Site Services Manager, the role is  responsible for the maintenance and improvement of site infrastructure and supporting functions. Developing plans, drawings, programmes and proposals in support of site infrastructure development. Coordination of both embedded and 3rd party contractors in the maintenance & repair of electrical, plumbing, ventilation, refrigeration, as well as civils and buildings and within the site.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the continuity of service infrastructure on site through both planned and reactive task management.
  • Development of proposals in support of stakeholder task requests
  • Plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with the site and organizational goals
  • Developing facility and equipment specifications.
  • Designing and overseeing the implementation of facility development, layout and systems.
  • Production of CAD drawings in support of proposals.
  • Evaluating operational systems and facility infrastructure to ascertain and improve efficiencies.
  • Developing processing plans and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Planning and coordinating infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules and activities.
  • Coordinating and overseeing contractor activities on site.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards.
  • Preparing reports and compliance documentation.
  • Any other duties, which may be reasonably requested, to facilitate the efficient operation of the function.

Requirements

The successful candidate should demonstrate the following:

  • Previous proven Facilities experience in an industrial / manufacturing environment
  • Experience of working with CAFM systems
  • Experience in AutoCAD
  • Experience of working with both Soft and Hard Facilities Management services providers
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques e.g. Kaizen, Lean 6 Sigma, RCA
  • Knowledge of building processes & construction principles
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance.
  • Project/programme management skills
  • Problem solving / trouble shooting skills
  • Good verbal & written communication skills
  • A green or black belt would be desirable
  • Computer Literate

Qualifications

  • HNC or HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification, a modern apprenticeship would be an advantage but is not essential.
