37h/week
08.00-16.30 Monday to Thursday (30mns lunch break)
08.00-13.00 Friday (no lunch break)

Roxel is an Anglo-French company that designs, develops and manufactures solid propellant rocket motors for use in tactical missiles. Its operations are spread across several sites in the UK and France and it has an annual turnover of about £100M and nearly 700 staff.

 

We currently have one vacancy for a Level 3 Procurement Apprenticeship within the  Purchasing Team at Roxel UK, the successful candidate will be based at the Roxel site and will report to the Senior Indirect buyer.

Procurement provide, acquire and buy solutions from external suppliers, to ensure that Roxel UK can meet its customer needs in a results driven environment. The function manages the supplier identification and selection through to securing pricing; setting up supplier agreements for production items and purchase orders for all other non-production (Indirect) goods and services.

 

As part of the Purchasing Team, the Procurement Apprentice will learn the skills and knowledge to purchasing solutions to provide the Business with a sustainable and competitive source for all purchasing requirements.

 

Within the apprenticeship the apprentice will be supported and trained to do the following job role tasks:

 

  • Provide a purchasing solution for the procurement function, including placing orders, obtaining quotes, managing the purchase order and agreeing supplier agreements.
  • Assists in resolving any issues with invoices with the assistance of finance team.
  • Maintaining strong & effective relationships with suppliers to be able to resolve disputes and poor performance.
  • Undertake the Transactions to place Purchase Orders.
  • Supports the Team in line with agreed standards and business processes.
  • Takes responsibility for workload and priorities, and communicates with Manager if any risks or issues arise.
  • Identifies opportunities for cost savings, measures and reports savings on a monthly basis.
  • Provide efficient and effective customer service.
  • Adhere to all Group Policies and Procedures.
  • Undertake any training and development activities outlined and agreed as part of your monthly / quarterly reviews.
  • Take care of your own safety and the safety of others at all times by complying with the Health & Safety Policy at all times.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.

Entry Requirements

GCSE passes (or equivalent), in English Language and Mathematics at grade 4 or above.

 

Delivery

The Apprenticeship will be delivered by remotely SR Supply Chain Consultants.

The course is delivered remotely online, so the canidate must be able to feel comfortable with this type of tuition.  You will be allocated projects to complete on the Roxel site.

 

Duration

The apprenitceship is over a 2 year period.

 

Qualification

Upon successful completion, the candidate will study the L3 Procurement and Supply Assistant Apprenticeship, which includes the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Level 3 Advanced Certificate.

 

Start Date

April or October 2024 – Depending on Training supplier intake

 

The successful candidate will need to be a good communicator, have good IT Skills and be a team player. We expect positive attitude, self-motivation and enthusiasm. As the course will be delivered online, the successful candidate will have to be highly motivated and organised.
