This role is eligible for ad hoc hybrid working and  is subject to a  6 month probation period.

Roxel is an Anglo-French Company that designs, develops and manufactures a range of solid propellant rocket motors for use in tactical missiles. Its operations are spread across several sites in the UK and France and it has an annual turnover of about £150M and nearly 700 staff, with 200 in the UK.

 

Roxel are looking for an energetic and organised Project Coordinator to provide administrative and operational support to our busy programme teams.

Reporting to the PMO, you will work closely with Programme and Project Managers, collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Quality Engineers, Operations & Production, MRP, Finance, and Engineering.

This role covers the full project lifecycle from bid through development, production, and sales, to closure and disposals. You will handle a broad range of coordination tasks, including tracking actions, maintaining project trackers and internal systems, producing reports, reviewing costs, resolving financial queries, and helping ensure projects remain on schedule and aligned with internal processes.

To be successful in this role, you will need excellent time management and communication skills as you’ll be working with various functions to deliver results on time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT OFFICER SUPPORT

The Project Coordinator supports the PMO by tracking adherence to established processes and standards, and by assisting with the gate review process.

• Scheduling internal and chaired gate reviews and communicating post-review minutes.
• Assisting in gathering necessary data to support gate reviews, ensuring the project is ready for evaluation.
• Maintaining accurate records of progress, decisions made at each gate, key risks, and actions.
• Monitoring the status of assigned tasks and tracking actions; proactively following up on overdue tasks, asking for updates, and identifying any impediments.
• Maintaining the governance tracker to ensure programme alignment with internal processes, standards, and practices. Reporting any deviations and tracking corrective actions.
• Assisting in the development and implementation of project management methodologies, processes, and governance frameworks.
• Supporting updates of dashboards and scorecards.
• Compiling resourcing reports using standardised formats in line with the monthly programme calendar.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT SUPPORT

The Project coordinator supports project managers with the day-to-day execution of projects by handling administrative tasks, reviewing cost reports, coordinating project activities, and promoting uniformity in project documentation and procedures.

• Supporting Project Managers in the creation of PMPs (Project Management Plans) and ensuring they remain up to date.
• Coordinating Lessons Learned meetings, drafting and distributing minutes, and tracking resulting actions.
• Supporting Project Managers in preparing monthly/quarterly reporting packs (MPR/QPR).
• Maintaining various project trackers, following up with cross-functional teams, and updating statuses.
• Organising regular project meetings in line with the cadence calendar (Project Launch meetings, Production Kick -off meetings, MRBs, project reviews, Lessons Learned, risk reviews, etc.), and supporting preparation of associated materials.
• Reviewing monthly cost reports, especially time bookings, and flagging issues to Project Managers, challenging inaccuracies where needed.
• Regularly reviewing open Non-Conformance Forms (NCFs) and driving closure/resolution by working with cross-functional teams and Project Managers.
• Creating, submitting, and tracking purchase requisitions (WPRs).
• Liaising with operational teams to understand build progress on assets due for sale and tracking risks/issues as they arise.
• Maintaining the production/sales tracker for our products — from build and inspection through to release and sale.
• Assisting Project Managers with monthly invoicing through our internal systems.
• Supporting administration of the non-major projects portfolio.
• Supporting our Site Modernisation Project Team as and when required.

EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND

QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential Qualifications
o A minimum of 5 GCSE’s at level 4 or above (must include Maths & English)
o Have excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project)

Desirable Qualifications
o Higher level qualification in business, such as AAT/Apprenticeship

 

EXPERIENCE:
Essential Experience
o Proven work experience as a Project Coordinator or in a similar role
o Experience supporting project management from inception to delivery
o Experience in cost tacking and reviewing financial data
o Familiarity with risk management and quality control
o Experience in cost tracking and reviewing financial data
o Familiarity with risk management and quality control

Desirable Experience
o Knowledge of Primavera P6 is advantageous
o Experience in a manufacturing environment is an advantage
