07.30-15.30 Monday to Thursday (30mins lunch break)

Roxel is an Anglo-French company that designs, develops and manufactures solid propellant rocket motors for use in tactical missiles. Its operations are spread across several sites in the UK and France and it has an annual turnover of about £100M and nearly 700 staff.
We currently have two positions for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineering apprentice through a Level 3 Mechatronics Apprenticeship within the Maintenance Team at Roxel UK, the successful candidates will be based at HWGTA in Worcester for their first year with half term visits to the Roxel site, from year 2 will report to the Maintenance & Calibration Manager.

Along with a “buddy” using your learned skills, knowledge and behaviours in mechanical, electrical and engineering you will support to maintain and enhance the performance of plant and equipment. Provide first class, flexible support to production requirements and factory services at all times by means of the application of electrical/mechanical skills in fault-finding/diagnostics, planned preventative maintenance practices and electrical/mechanical installation.
Within the apprenticeship you will be supported and trained to do the following job tasks:
- Comply with all statutory Safety, Health and Environment requirements.
- Ensure accurate & timely records are entered
- Ensure maintenance engineering downtime is accurately logged, monitor repair times, and find new methods / procedures to reduce these utilising our computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)
- To work as part of the maintenance team to ensure a safe and efficient production performance is delivered
- Fault diagnosis and rectification on all plant and equipment within the manufacturing facility
- Identifying the root cause of asset faults, improving asset performance and reliability to meet operational objectives
- Provide a fast and efficient response time to any plant breakdowns that occur, whilst ensuring all company procedures and standards are adhered to
Entry Requirements
GCSE passes (or equivalent), in English Language and Mathematics at grade 4 or above.
Delivery
The Apprenticeship will be delivered by HWGTA.
Year 1 includes 26-42 weeks off the job training to cover practical and theory aspects
Year 2 would include 1 day per week to complete EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering – Development Knowledge
Years 2,3 & 4 will be based in company developing skills in preparation for the end point assessment to gain your Mechatronics qualification.
You will receive monthly visits from your assigned Learning and Development Specialist, who will set you work, monitor your development and wellbeing, and discuss training sessions. They will also prepare you for your End Point Assessment.
There is also a five-day teambuilding residential trip that is held in the Easter break of each year offered to all apprentices on programme.

The apprenitceship is over a 4 year period.
Qualification
As well as above you will also be studying an HNC in Engineering.
